A Surprising Galaxy S25 Edge Camera, but It Falls Short Leave a comment

The Galaxy S25 Edge is certainly the most surprising of all the Galaxy S25 devices. However, it may not be available until April, according to the preview. We still have a long way to go. The Edge branding was once thought to have gone out of fashion, but Samsung has repurposed it for a new type of smartphone: a super thin one. 

Until yesterday’s leak, Samsung had revealed nothing apart from its design at Unpacked. There have been leaks about the camera on the Galaxy S25 Edge. You won’t be happy about this news if you’re a camera lover.

In leaked reports and leaks before Galaxy Unpacked, the Slim Edition S25, now officially called Galaxy S25 Edge, was reported to have a triple camera setup. Sadly, no such claim materialized. A Samsung representative confirmed on the day of the event that the Galaxy S25 Edge has only two cameras, and we even saw them in action. 

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

According to a new report from leak city, the Samsung Edge only has two sensors: one primary and one ultrawide. Neither lens has a telephoto. Because of its ultra-thin 6.4mm design, the Edge might not deliver a full flagship experience, thus our first drawback.

According to rumors, the S25 Ultra will have a 200 MP primary sensor. The rear dual-lens setup may also include a 50MP or 12MP ultrawide. Its third camera will be at the front, possibly a 12 MP selfie camera.

In order to achieve 4K/60 FPS recording, the S25 Edge includes all sensors, and the 200 MP main sensor can capture 4K/120 or 8K/30 FPS. Video quality is the same on all S25 phones. They also have the same chipset platform.

According to leaked media, the S25 Edge will also use the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, Samsung might have provided it with a 7-core underclocked chip instead of an 8-core chip (for the Galaxy). The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to utilize a similar downsized chip. This is another downside of the slim Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. This story needs more context from Samsung.
